NASA Program for 11th Graders
#GrabItOrPassIt
We are celebrating the 20th year of HAS and we need your help to spread the word to your 11th grade students. Please share the email below. I have also included a letter which has more information:
Dear High School Educators,
High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) applications are now open! HAS is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Texas high school juniors to explore careers at NASA, learn about what they might want to study in college, and unite with like-minded students across the state. Following a series of online lessons, the highest achieving students will be invited to an all-expenses-paid, week-long visit to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston during the summer. Selected participants will plan a mission to Mars while receiving guidance from NASA scientists and engineers. Both the online and onsite portions are free to participants.
How can you help?
* Please encourage students at your school to apply for the program by visiting www.has.aerospacescholars.org
. The website includes detailed program information, the student application, important dates, and a downloadable poster to spread the word to classrooms about this unique opportunity!
* You can also learn more about the program by viewing the two available videos on our homepage:
o What Can You See
o A Journey of Discovery <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3HeXYi9Z5Q
>
* Get the word out to students on the morning announcements, in parent newsletters, in the school newspaper, and on your school's social media channels using the hashtag #NASAHAS!
* Spread the word to fellow math, science, and technology teachers to recommend it to their students.
Please find an attached letter with more information. If you have any questions, please contact us at jsc-aeroscho@mail.nasa.gov or you may contact me directly at Jessica.A.Cordero@NASA.gov.
