Diversity & Inclusion Director Learning, and Talent

JOB SUMMARY
As a D&I subject matter expert, responsible for CBRE's D&I learning and development programs, including planning and implementing all tactical and strategic activities. Consults and works with CBRE senior leadership teams, business groups, and People colleagues to foster an inclusive and diverse culture and workforce. Evaluates, designs, and implements robust, integrated global D&I strategies that spans learning and development, talent acquisition, retention, employee engagement, employee resource groups, philanthropy, and volunteerism. Works closely with partners across the region and in the broader industry to introduce and embed best practices to achieve collective D&I goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides vision, leadership, coordination, and strategic planning for diversity and inclusion learning and development (L&D) training programs for CBRE's global workforce across all business and corporate functions, platforms, levels, and geographies.
  • Communicates with business and People leaders to understand internal D&I learning needs and uses this input to assess/evaluate and make recommendations to develop or buy implementable solutions that meet organizational D&I learning needs.
  • Serves as an expert resource to business leaders and managers, and delivers diversity & inclusion education, training, and development programs to support their strategic goals and operational objectives.
  • Facilitates D&I training and learning programs, globally. Provides insights on diversity and inclusion training content and the production of D&I materials for CBRE University programs.
  • Provides vision, leadership, coordination, and strategic planning for recruitment and talent identification programs to attract a more diverse workforce and deepen our pipeline.
  • Drives diverse talent development and retention strategies for employees.
  • Designs and implements initiatives/processes which anticipate and/or respond to key competitive issues.
  • Establishes and maintains on-going relationships with peers and partners in key organizations and companies to stay informed of best practices, benchmarks, competitor actions, etc.
  • Promotes a positive image and positive external relations for CBRE by representing the company in various community, state, and regional activities designed to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Develops and presents an array of innovative D&I ideas and program concepts for consideration, selection, and implementation.
  • Supports communications related to D&I initiatives.
  • Reviews and provides input to corporate and business D&I budgets.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports, including selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Business, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Mgmt., Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or related field."
Experience as a senior-level diversity leader, with diversity and cultural competencies, as well as a successful track record of managing diversity & inclusion strategies and programs.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents, and effectively respond to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using a distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management, and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take the desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of complex reports.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Demonstrated program management experience working with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and stakeholders. Ability to cross numerous organizational boundaries with the fluid ability to adapt language and styles to different audiences. Ability to research, identify, and implement best practices of diversity & inclusion, as well as demonstrate an excellent command of contemporary diversity and inclusion concepts and issues.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department, and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause a long-term impact on the line of business and/or overall company.
