In this highly competitive program, undergraduate students will solve problems in mathematics, cryptology and communications technology in support of national security. Signals Intelligence Collection Program (SICP) Applies To
Computer competence is required, but students who are majoring in social sciences are also welcome to apply for this internship, where they will apply computer, technical, analytic, communication, problem solving and/or critical thinking skills to NSA’s signals intelligence (SIGINT) mission. Cyber Summer Program (CSP) Applies To
The Cyber Summer Program (CSP) is NSA’s premier program for the best undergraduate and graduate computer science, engineering, mathematics, network security and information assurance students in the country. You will work on a broad range of problems of your own choosing, involving applications of computer science and engineering. You will learn and develop data analysis, network analysis and exploitation techniques and apply that knowledge to obtain real-time solutions for mission-critical cyber-related problems.

Data Center Management Intern Program Applies To
Interns will gain experience through a hands-on approach to managing a data center. From deployments of new systems and their associated mechanical, electrical, and IT requirements, you will gain valuable knowledge and insight for a growing demand in the data center marketplace. Past intern projects have focused on how to better manage aspects of a data center, how to optimize data center efficiency and more.

Human Resources (HR) Intern Program Applies To
Undergraduates majoring in Human Resources (HR) or an alternative major with a minor or concentration in HR may apply for this program. You will gain practical experience working in one of these specialty areas: total compensation, HR strategies, recruitment and staffing, benefits and employee services, HR information systems or global HR service delivery.

Installation & Logistics (I&L) Summer Intern Program Applies To
This program is intended for students interested in project management and electrical, power, mechanical or civil engineering fields, and supply chain and business management operations. You will be directly involved with selected NSA facilities’ construction/renovation projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, activation and occupancy. Working with mentors, you will also be involved in ensuring that projects run according to schedule, are cost effective and meet customer objectives. The internship will culminate in a final presentation to NSA senior leadership.

This internship is open to select college undergraduate or master’s level students who are majoring in the field of health promotion and wellness, health education or related fields. You will gain practical health promotion experience within NSA’s Office of Occupational Health, Environmental and Safety Services (OHESS).

Security & Counterintelligence Summer Intern Program (SCSIP) Applies To
Interns will actively participate in or support ongoing security and counterintelligence (S&CI) mission activities in areas such as personnel security investigations, security clearance adjudications, physical security and access control, antiterrorism/force protection, and/or counterintelligence programs. You will work directly under the guidance of veteran security professionals responsible for protecting NSA personnel, facilities and operations worldwide and, in the process, gain an understanding of how the S&CI Directorate supports and interacts with the larger NSA/CSS enterprise and counterpart organizations across the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.

Summer Intern Program for Science and Technology (SIP/ST) Applies To
This program is open to college juniors who are concentrating their studies in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, network engineering, software engineering or telecommunications. You will work with leading computer scientists and engineers on the nation’s toughest cyber problems while enhancing your skills in assignments related to your major. You will work closely with a project mentor on a specific, mission-focused problem while learning in an exciting, high-tech environment.

Summer Strategic Communications Intern Program (SSCIP) Applies To
This program is designed for students enrolled in one or more of the following areas of study: writing, editing, journalism, public relations, marketing or advertising; visual arts, television production, motion picture production, or 3-D animation; graphics or photography. You will support the Strategic Communications organization's role to provide accurate and timely information on NSA’s missions and accomplishments to a variety of audiences using state-of-the-art messaging products in one of the following areas: corporate communications, messaging and public affairs; multimedia production or creative imaging.

Summer Language Program Applies To
Interns will learn to analyze foreign communications for vital intelligence missions by apprenticing with experienced language analysts. Geopolitical, cultural and technical knowledge may be used to understand both overtly stated meaning and subtly implied intent as you scan, translate and transcribe foreign communications, then report critical information to U.S. government customers. Foreign language proficiency combined with a wide array of majors will be considered. The 2019 Summer Language Program is hiring students with proficiency in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian and Turkish. Languages may change from year to year based on the agency's needs.

Summer Intern Program for Information Assurance (SIPIA) Applies To
Interns will be involved in projects that enable the cyber mission force through current analysis, expertise, training and tools. You will be involved in information assurance (IA) projects, including protecting and defending the nation's information systems networks, and outmaneuvering cyber adversaries.

Students will have access to state-of-the-art computing resources and computational software packages such as Mathematica, MATLAB, Magma, MAPLE and S-PLUS.

Industrial and Organizational Psychology Intern Program Applies To
As an intern working in the HR Strategy and Program Design unit at NSA, you will learn how to apply scientific and quantitative methods to address a wide range of human capital issues. Graduate students enrolled in a program in I/O psychology or a related field will gain valuable applied experience by working alongside psychologists in areas of personnel assessment (i.e., research and development work to support assessments used to select applicants for mission critical positions); organizational design and development; human capital systems design and consulting; occupational/job analysis; organizational assessments and workforce surveys; and program evaluation.

Summer Program for Operations Research Technology (SPORT) Applies To

This program offers training in a multifaceted cryptologic discipline. The program offers scholarship awardees tuition assistance to accredited colleges and universities, challenging summer work and a guaranteed position in their field of study upon graduation. Attention ALL,
Beginning in 2019, Lockheed Martin will award 200 scholarships of $10,000 per student - renewable each year. The program will continue to add up to 200 new
recipients each year for an investment of $50 million over five years. These scholarships are for graduating high school seniors, freshmen, and sophomores in STEM programs including Information Assurance. The program will be open to individuals studying engineering or computer science that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. The initial focus will be on four-year U.S. college or university attendees, but the program has the capability to expand globally as well as to two-year community college attendees.
Mentoring opportunities will be a key component of the program, and recipients will also be eligible for a Lockheed Martin internship following their freshman year in college. This scholarship is designed to aid intelligent and creative students who are interested in a career in STEM who would otherwise have difficulty fulfilling that dream..

Application period opens for mayor's 2019 summer jobs program for youths
HOUSTON -- Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Hire Houston Youth jobs program is open for summer 2019.

All youth ages 16 to 24 in the Houston area can apply for paid jobs and internships in many kinds of industries, non-profit organizations and businesses as well as City of Houston government.

Visit www.hirehoustonyouth.org to apply. Click on the “youth” tab, create an account, and choose a job to apply for. We also encourage youth to follow Hire Houston Youth on social media on Instagram and Twitter @hireHOUyouth.

“Hire Houston Youth empowers young people from many walks of life to ‘earn and learn’ as they plan and train for full-time jobs in Houston’s dynamic economy,” Mayor Sylvester Turner said.

Selected applicants will be paid at least $8 per hour for at least 7 weeks during the summer, and some employers are seeking immediate placements.

Companies such as American Pool Houston are looking to hire 400 lifeguards at various community pools, for example. Other employers include McDonald's, United Airlines, Texas Department of Transportation, Houston Airport System, MD Anderson Cancer Center, iT’z Pizza and non-profit organizations like Urban Enrichment Institute, Houston Food Bank and more.

More employers are urged to join the program. Mayor Turner has set a goal of 10,000 jobs for summer 2019, up from 7,500 last year. He started the program in 2016 with 2,500 jobs.

In lieu of providing summer jobs, employers can make a tax deductible $2,500 donation to sponsor a subsidized youth to work at a non-profit organization, and/or become vendor at a job or career fair.

In addition to participating in Hire Houston Youth, young people will have the chance to seek employment by participating in summer job and career fairs at City of Houston multi-service centers, Lone Star College - Victory campus, George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston Food Bank, and other locations. Voter registration and resources for youth and families will be on site.
