The event is open to all children and adults, in addition to Black males.

Courage Quote... love it! From Genovia!

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.

From now on, you'll be traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be. The key is to allow yourself to make the journey.

Wakanda Forever Party invite from efamily member Melanie Lawson

I want to invite you to a fantastic party that’s happening two weeks from tomorrow – Saturday, May 19th.

It’s the annual fundraiser for my favorite non-profit, the Houston Museum of African American Culture or HMAAC.

If you’ve never visited HMAAC, you are missing out on a real treat. We offer an incredible variety of art by local and national artists, along with wonderful representation from the African Diasporo. But not just fabulous artwork on the walls – we also showcase music, culture, and performance art from all corners of our diverse city

But back to the party! Our one big fundraiser of the year will be Saturday night, May 19th at the Ensemble Theater, beginning at 6:30 PM.

And this year, our theme is “A Party with a Purpose”, and you can come as your favorite character from “Black Panther.”

We hope you’ll dress as your favorite superhero, or in colorful African garb, and be prepared to eat, drink and dance to your heart’s content!

No need to buy a table -- the price for all this celebrating is $200 a ticket, which is tax-deductible.

Here’s the link to buy tickets: And If you want to learn more about the museum, please visit our website or our Instagram page:
