Accessible Parking and Elevators: Accessible parking is available, and is located to the east of the SFC Plaza Area and marked with easy to follow directional signs. Elevators are located on the north and south side of the lobby concourse. The accessible drop off area is located on the southwest side of the facility. Seating Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student. Bags Small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear but cannot exceed 4.5″x6.5" Clear bags should not exceed 12"x6"x12" All bags larger than a small clutch bag will need to be clear. Bags for medical equipment (sized appropriately to the size of the equipment) are permitted, but will be subject to search, i.e. small items like medication need to follow the standard bag policy above. Diaper/parenting bags (accompanied by infant/toddler) are permitted but will be subject to search. Following standard safety protocol, all unattended items and bags left outside the gates or within the venue will be removed from the facility immediately. Bags, purses or backpacks of any kind will not be accepted by Guest Services and you will be asked to take them back to your vehicle. Cameras Cameras with detachable lenses, audio and video recording devices, tripods and flash photography are prohibited. Small cameras with lenses less than four inches are permitted. Diplomas Following the ceremony, the Registrar's Office will distribute diplomas. Remember to bring your photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport) to commencement to receive your diploma. Follow the signs at the venue to the diploma pick-up area after the ceremony.

6th-8th grade Summer Program - Project Based Design Thinking

Texas Southern University's College of Science Engineering and Technology is partnering with Verizon and the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) to offer a free project-based immersive STEM program, Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers, for middle school students starting on June 23rd , 2025 through July 11th , 2025 (See flyer for details). Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers aims to empower middle school students in under-resourced communities to explore STEM subjects, learn problem-solving skills and gain exposure to career opportunities in technology fields. Participating students will receive mentorship, access to next-gen technology and hands-on training connected to real-world challenges. The initiative provides engaging programming where rising 6th-8th grade students can learn design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality, and social entrepreneurship. No prior knowledge or experience is required. Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers is part of the company’s education initiative that helps to address barriers to digital inclusion under Citizen Verizon, the company’s responsible business plan to help move the world forward for all. Greetings High School Students, Family and Supporters 2022 ACT - SO Competition   Greetings High School Students, Family and Supporters, Online Student Registration is required and now open until March 25, 2025, for High School Students (9th - 12th) grades, who are interested in competing in up to 3 different categories of the 2025 NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Competitions. Students, please sign up and register ASAP before Spring Break by copying and pasting the link https://forms.gle/qmXP3pSJW162v6pCA or scanning the QR code on the flyer. Students, it is imperative that you sign up ASAP, even if you have not determined what the title of your competition work is going to be. Students must use a email address that is not school related. Also, on May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. Some categories have specific and additional requirements such as The STEMS (Sciences) and Entrepreneurship. Also, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management require students to be enrolled in a Certified Culinary Arts and/or Hospitality Management High School Program. You are also invited to the March 2025 NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Competition Enrichment Sessions via Zoom, where you will learn more information about the 2025 NAACP ACT-SO Competition Season. These meetings are Mandatory, so you only have to register one time then you will be registered for all the meetings. Students who sign up to compete will be required to submit additional documents and forms in order to compete in the local and/or NAACP National ACT-SO Competitions.
