Dear Students, Parents, Family, Alumni, Mentors, Judges, Individual and Corporate Supporters and Sponsors, Friends, Members and Committee Members of the NAACP Houston Branch and the NAACP Houston Youth Council,
You are ALL cordially invited to join in the Celebration for our students who competed in Baltimore, MD, July 20-26, 2017 at the 39th NAACP Afro-Academic Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) National Competition and the 108th NAACP Annual Convention. The Celebration will take place on this Friday night, August 11, 2017, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at the St. Augustus Lutheran Church, 2001 Wheeler, Houston, TX 77004 (located directly across the street from the NAACP Houston Branch Office).
Come and Congratulate our nineteen (19) NAACP Houston Branch Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) Gold Medalist, who competed in 21 Categories as they will showcase their talents in the Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities, STEM (Sciences), Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. Eleven (11) Competitors won NAACP National ACT-SO Medals. Two Gold Medals in Culinary Arts and Dance Modern. Six Silver (6) Medals in Filmmaking, Short Story and Hospitality Management Team. Three (3) Bronze Medals in Computer Science, Physics and Oratory. The NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Program also received an NAACP National ACT-SO Award titled: ACT-SO Student Engagement Award for bringing the most Competitors (15 or more) to the 2017 National NAACP ACT-SO Competition.
Come and Congratulate our four (4) NAACP Houston Youth Council Members, who were the recipients of the highly selected 2017 NAACP National Education Scholarships.
