STEM Summer Camps at U of H Grades 5-8
UHsecondary
Attention All Parents of Students entering Grades 5-8 in Fall 2018
The Statoil Summer STEM Camp is accepting campers for this summer’s excellent line up of STEM camps! Don’t let summer brain drain impact your child. The Statoil STEM camps are sure to cultivate your child’s interests in Science, Technology,Engineering and Math (STEM)! Studies show creativity is in decline among U.S. children, with culprits including an emphasis on high-stakes testing and rote learning, over-scheduling in extra-curricular activities and increasing amounts of time parked in front of a screen. A summer of learning and exploration awaits your child at the Statoil Summer STEM Camp. The Statoil STEM Camp, hosted by the University of Houston’s teachHOUSTON program, will capture your child’s imagination as well as develop their STEM skills as campers build working apps for a smartphone, explore crime scene investigations, design robots to compete in challenges, discover the wonderful realm of numbers, and much, much more. With activities created by professional math and science educators, your child will be eager to explore real-world STEM topics.
