Angie Thomas, Author of the Hate you Give guest speaker at Houston Public Library Fundraiser-Join efamily member Pearl Wright's table

The Houston Library Foundation will be hosting its annual benefit luncheon April 24, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston. The city's budget reductions will have a significant impact on libraries throughout Houston therefore additional financial support is even more critical to minimize the impact libraries will be facing. Libraries that close rarely if ever come back to their communities.

This year's luncheon theme is Beyond the Page. The keynote Speaker is Angie Thomas, author of the Black Lives Matter-Inspired Young Adults novel: The Hate You Give. This is a great opportunity for our young people to hear first hand from the author as she gives context and background to the culture, politics, and movement that inspired this book.

As a member of the Host Committee and supporter of the Beyond the Page Luncheon, I am asking for your support by purchasing a table, ticket(s) or by making a contribution to the Houston Public Library Foundation. If you can support this event, ticket prices are:
Individuals: $250.00
Table: $2,500.00
Students: $1,000
Contributions of any amount: ______________

Checks can be made payable to the Houston Public Library Foundation.
NOTE: Our own church member, Dr.. Rhea Lawson is the Executive Director of the Library.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will send the flyer in my next communication to you.

Blessings,
Pearl Wright
