Dear NAACP Houston Branch Members,
Your Houston NAACP cordially invites you to join the NAACP Founder's Day Celebration, themed “In The Spirit of Our Founders...We Fight On!"
To celebrate the 117th Anniversary of the founding of the NAACP, the event will be held on Thursday February 12, 2026 at The Ensemble Theater, located at 3535 Main Street. The evening begins with an upbeat RECEPTION at 5:30PM followed by an elegant seated DINNER at 6:00PM that flows into an inspiring presentation highlighting the impact the NAACP makes locally, statewide and nationally, and then...
Anticipate A Moving Conversation “The NAACP Now…Leading Forward, Living The Fight”, featuring, our NAACP National President and CEO, Mr. Derrick Johnson, our NAACP Texas Conference President, Mr. Gary Bledsoe, and our NAACP Houston Branch President, Bishop James Dixon, II, D. Min. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Carla Brailey, Associate Professor of Sociology, Senior Fellow, Barbara Jordan Institute of Public Policy at Texas Southern University.
In this climate, so much is demanded of the NAACP, nationally, statewide and of course locally; but our essential work cannot happen without support from our members and our corporate & community partners. That’s why we’re asking you to support our Founder's Day Celebration.
In light of our Houston NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Gala's transition back to its original hosting month of October, this Founder's Day event is also purposed to fuel/(fund) our broad impact and local freedom fighting programs and initiatives for 2026.
As Members of our great Association and local Houston NAACP, we hope you'll commit to sponsoring a table or ticket(s) on this anniversary occasion (Special Pricing for NAACP Life & Subscribing Life Members is available).
Additional Founder's Day details are provided on our website at: www.naacphouston.org/117 or you may contact your Houston NAACP if you need additional information or need to verity your Life Membership status.
At a time like this, the difference the NAACP makes is more important than we can measure. Saving our democracy, protecting freedoms and defending human dignity. In the Spirit of Our Founders, “We Fight On!”
Thank You and Blessings, Bishop James Dixon, II, President NAACP Houston Branch |
