Hello Everyone, 

3M MS Fellowship: 
We are excited to announce that 3M has partnered with BiR to host another round of MS tuition support for robotics-related master's programs in the United States for AY26-27. 

Eligibility: MS student actively enrolled in an MS graduate program related to robotics (ME/EE/AA/CS/data science/ or similar) in the United States as of Fall 2026 (proof of enrollment will be requested in the application)

Funding Amount and number of awardees: We intend to support 2-3 applicants at a funding level of $15-25k each (~$15k if three awardees are selected). These are allocated exclusively for tuition and paid directly to the University by BiR on behalf of the awardee.

Application Due Date: July 31, 2026, 11:59 p.m. AOE. (awardee selection by mid/late August for Fall 2026 support).

Note on Reference Letters: This year, to accelerate the award process, we will require that letters of recommendation be submitted by the application deadline above (7/31/26) - this means that applicants must both list their recommender in the application, and ask their recommender to send the PDF of the recommendation to BIR email blackinrobotics@gmail.com by the due date. Prompt for the letter can be found on the program page above (and in the application form). Recommenders should send the PDF with the same listed email from the applicant for matching, and use the subject line: "BiR 3M fellowship Reference 2026: [Student Name] reference from [Reference Name]" (with name substitutions)

BiR Robotics Conference Student Travel Reimbursement Award (2026 Q3)

We are excited to announce BiR Robotics Conference Reimbursement award for Q3 of 2026. 


Application Due Date: July 17, 2026, 11:59p AOE

Eligibility: enrolled student or postdoc. The applicant should have an accepted paper that they will present at the venue. Reimbursement amount requires receipts for all line items and can be reimbursed up to $2k (travel, hotel, conference registration and paper fees). 

Reimbursements are via Zelle and should reflect the out-of-pocket expenses of the student being recovered. Please message BiR with any questions regarding the process
