American Boy Nigerian Girl by Efamily Member Robert Prather -- Please support!! And enjoy!
From Amazon's book description... Order Here. https://amzn.to/4dG63Vs
Robert Prather, a young American, goes through culture shock when he travels to Nigeria, alone, on a quest to marry his bride. The adventure that ensues is filled with excitement and danger as well as a spirit of giving unlike anything Prather has ever experienced.
Prather struggles with communication barriers, illness and internal conflict as he experiences stark contradictions to the images of poverty and unrest in Africa constantly portrayed in Western media. He falls in love not only with his bride and her family, but with a new culture, new food, new music and a new way of thinking. Ultimately, he realizes that his bride has done something for him that no other woman could—she has reconnected him with his roots.
American Boy, Nigerian Girl is a story of love, discovery and healing that spans three continents and exposes the very human side of West African life in a heartwarming and humorous way.

Youth Engineering Event May 21st thanks efamily member Sam Denard for sharing!
Here is an engineering event that younger STEM students might appreciate.
Subject: IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series - Tanay Joshi

IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series - Tanay Joshi - Hybrid LiFi–WiFi Systems for Low-Latency Communication
The IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series is proud to present a virtual STEM talk series that celebrates student-led research, innovation, and real-world impact. This series provides a platform for students to showcase their research and development efforts, share technical insights, and inspire peers, educators, and industry professionals alike.
Join us on May 21, 2026, from 7:00–8:00 PM CST for a virtual presentation by Tanay Joshi, an IEEE student member and junior at The Woodlands High School, who is already making impressive contributions in the field of next-generation communications.
In this talk, Tanay will explore how connectivity can be optimized in low-density and challenging wireless environments—such as rural clinics or secure offices—where traditional WiFi often falls short. By integrating LiFi (light-based communication) with conventional wireless networks, his system dynamically adapts to environmental conditions to improve performance. The presentation will cover the design approach, experimental results, and the broader implications for future communication infrastructure.
Whether you’re a student, educator, engineer, or simply curious about emerging technologies, this talk offers an inspiring look at how young innovators are shaping the future of connectivity.
P.S. Are you a student researcher, developer, or innovator working on an exciting technical project? Or do you know a student who is doing impactful work and would benefit from a platform to share it?
The IEEE Houston Section Student Spotlight Series is always looking for future speakers—from high school, undergraduate, and graduate students—who are eager to present their research, prototypes, design projects, or early-stage ideas in a supportive and professional environment.
