Friendly Reminder ! VIN Etching Event - Tuesday, June 13, 2017 @ 4:00 p.m. South Central Substation, 2202 St Emanuel
VIN Etching will occur on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the South Central Substation located at 2202 St Emanuel. It will occur between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., on a first come, first serve basis. As long as we have individuals waiting, we will continue the etching until daylight permits. If we are not able to serve everyone due to the lack of daylight, we can always schedule another date as long as we have a reasonable number to justify another event date.

On June 8th, The Health Museum is hosting a FREE mind-expanding panel discussion
featuring Jari Lacks Whye, David Lacks Jr., Dr. Amy McGuire, and Dr. Khalil Muhammad
as we explore the future of genomics. Become engaged in race and medicine,
the history of genomics, the psychosocial impacts of genetic testing,
and the increasing significance of genomics in our lives and in the world of medicine.
The discussion will focus on the minuscule 0.5% genetic variation in humans and
how that difference impacts our health.
The panel will discuss the social determinants of health as well as modern genomics and ethics.
