Proud of Efamily member Ezra Brown's son and his Robotics Team from Harmony Science Academy! Seeking Support for Travel to Regionals
Ezra Jr and his robotics team from Harmony Science Academy High School won the regional in their division April 4th and will compete in the national competition in St. Louis, Missouri April 19 - 26. They will be working in alliance with the team from Clear Creek High School, who is sponsored by NASA. Ezra's dilemma, although the students have a commitment from Bechtel for $5 -10,000.00 and from the High School for another $3 - 5000.00 towards their expenses it looks like they need to raise a total of $17,000.00.
Given the short notice they have had to increase the budget for transportation and lodging.

8th Annual Family Day at Sylvester Turner Park To Be Held April 11
Efamily member Sylvester Turner presents...
The 8th Annual Family Day
at Sylvester Turner Park will be bigger and better than ever.
Sponsored by State
Representative Sylvester Turner, Family Day will be held Saturday, April 11,
from 2 to 7 p.m. at Sylvester Turner Park, 2800 West Little York. Admission is
free.
As always, plenty of
delicious free food will be served, including turkey legs, sausage on a stick,
corn on the cob, nachos, popcorn, snow cones and drinks.
Entertainment will be
provided on three stages. J. Paul and the Zydeco Nubreeds again bring their
foot-stomping music. Schools get into the act with the Eisenhower High School
Jazz Band, the Aldine Dance Company and the M.C. Williams Middle School
Orchestra. Mariachi bands from the Houston Independent School District and Rice
University proved popular in their first appearance last year, so they are
returning to Family Day again. There will be a step dance group, the Swat
Steppers with a Testimony. And for the first time, Family Day will feature the
Lion and Dragon Dance Group from Linh Son Pagoda. Whatever kind of music you
like, we have you covered.
For the young, we will have
inflatable games and face painting. And the young at heart will find activities
at our senior tent.
It
wouldn’t be Family Day without baseball, with play on three fields. Baseball
fun can also be had at the Houston Astros’ Wanna Play games.
METRO is again generously
donating buses that will pick up attendees at parking lots away from the park
and bring them to Family Day. The buses will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Attendees can park for free and catch the buses at:
· Carver High School, 2100
South Victory
· Lone Star College,
Victory Center, 4141 Victory and
· Living Word Fellowship
Church, 7350 T.C. Jester
Attendees will be required
to pass through security check points this year. They are asked not to bring
backpacks or large bags, large containers, grills, alcohol, motorcycles or
animals, except service animals.
We will see you on Saturday and thanks for all you do........
