Gallery is graciously supporting the Community Artists' Collective with
this exhibition to launch a series of exhibitions on women of African
Diaspora in celebration of their 30th anniversary that will take place in
April of 2017. Since 1987, the Community Artists' Collective has
created opportunities for various aspects of professional artistic
development in Houston, especially for emerging and mid-career African
American artists, through exhibitions, education, entrepreneurship
and community development programs. Over the years, the Community
Artists' Collective has worked with more than 200 artists, reaching
approximately 25,000 people annually directly and indirectly through
their programs.
Deborah Colton
Gallery will donate a portion of sales from Tribute: Women Artists of African Diaspora
to the Community Artists' Collective during the entire exhibition.
On Thursday evening, October 6th, there will be an important
fund-raiser event for Community Artists' Collective
where Deborah Colton Gallery will donate 70 percent of the Gallery's
commission to the Community Artists' Collective that evening.
