Dr. Edith Irby Jones passed away on July 15 at her home in Houston. Dr. Jones was a trailblazer. At the Medical School of Arkansas, she was the only African-American student and one of few females. She was the first African-American intern at Baylor College of Medicine and the first female president of the National Medical Association.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Wake: Friday, July 26, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Funeral: Saturday, July 27, 11:00 a.m.
Both will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church | 500 Clay Street | Houston, TX 70002
Funeral Home: Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.
