Youth Innovative Incubator Program

It's Part 2! Join us as the HPL Mobile Express visits YIIP!
This "lab on wheels" is a first for Houston Public Library (HPL) and a new concept in the delivery of library services, bringing access to technology and programs to neighborhoods. Services provided include literacy programs, workforce development training, computer training, and access to technology.

HPL Mobile Express is equipped with 13 desktop computers, seven laptops, and a large-screen television used for instruction and literacy programs.

As a participant you will be a part of the
"My Makey Makey Circuit Board" project aboard the HPL Mobile Express.

Engineering, technology, and coding will be on the menu for our older kids with higher abilities (ages 8 - 13).

They will build Lego rovers and then code their movements to traverse a maze and other challenges.

The younger children will be served a tablet based program called Osmosis Genius which uses math, science, and art to play tablet games.
