Emancipation Park Conservancy Screens Final Movie Night This Year
Oscar Award Winning Director Spike Lee’s Film, School Daze
Frenchy’s Chicken to Offer Exclusive Prices and Select Menu Items Including Famous Chicken
WHAT: Emancipation Park Conservancy’s (EPC) Movie in the Tre is a monthly initiative to attract
organic traffic to the park and focuses on community empowerment, awareness, and collaboration.
It’s homecoming season and EPC is showing School Daze, a classic African American film about
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) experiences, specifically Greek life, social and
political encounters. Houston’s very own HBCUs, Texas Southern University and Prairie View
A&M University students and alumni will attend the event.

• Radio One: 97.9 The Box DJ Jus Chris and Emcee KG Smooth, games/prizes
• Texas Southern University: Tiger Sensations dance performance

• Vendors: Third Ward community businesses selling a variety of non-food items
• Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Road Show: 28ft x 22ft Movie Screen
