We thoroughly enjoy staying at Salamander, with its Harrimans Grill and Gold Cup Wine Bar, with appropriate wine/food pairings. 
Set in the middle of Middleburg’s (Virginia, 45 miles west of DC) horse and wine country, the country estate setting of Salamander® Resort & Spa wth its luxurious estate rooms – we had a fabulous fireplace and paintings done in Sheila’s photographs, etc. And, there are the many wineries nearby.

Recall Sheila, now billionaire Black woman owner of luxury resorts and the Washington Mystics WNBA team, co-founded the BET cable channel with her then-husband, Robert Johnson.
She also owns stakes in the Capitals hockey and the Wizards basketball. 

Johnson’s career owning hotels began when she bought a 340-acre farm in Middleburg, Va., and developed it into the Salamander Resort & Spa, which opened in 2013. The property includes a 168-room hotel and a 22-stall horse stable. Her Salamander chain also owns resorts in Florida, South Carolina, and Jamaica. And, if the elegant marble-and-gold-trimmed Trump hotel and Ivanka-designed-Himalayan-Salt-Chamber-and-Spa in DC goes up for sale?....Hmmmmm.

The Salamander Resort and Spa is offering a family style Thanksgiving feast on Thanksgiving day, which is still available to the public. Choice of three sides: bourbon-maple root vegetable, baked mac & cheese, butternut squash & apple soup, green beans, mashed potatoes & gravy, cranberry sauce, collard greens, stuffing.
Choice of salad: Caesar salad, mixed greens with champagne vinaigrette
