2024 Astronaut Candidate Applications

NASA is accepting applications for the next astronaut class from now until April 16, 2024.

To apply to become a NASA astronaut, applicants should go to: https://www.usajobs.gov/job/779261100.

• NASA is accepting applications for the next astronaut class Those selected will become NASA astronauts with the possibility of going on missions to the International Space Station and the Moon for the benefit of humanity.
• They will help develop spacecraft, support the teams currently in space, and ultimately join the ranks of only about 600 people who have had the honor of going into space.
• As part of NASA’s Artemis campaign, the agency will establish the foundation for long-term scientific exploration at the Moon, land the first woman, first person of color, and its first international partner astronaut on the lunar surface, and prepare for human expeditions to Mars.
• For applications for the next astronaut class, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said, “Astronauts are pioneers who will help us embark on this new era of exploration, and we need more adventurers ready to join the ranks to explore the cosmos, including future missions to the Moon, on to Mars, and beyond.”
• NASA is encouraging potential applicants to consider all their applicable life and work experiences to see whether they could be good candidates for this role as a NASA professional astronaut. Multidisciplinary applicants are desired. Top competencies are needed, not just strong technical skills. NASA also hopes students will follow their dreams and passion; do their best, and if they’re interested, they may be a future astronaut.
