LEARN a SKILL - EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Accepting Applications for EM Impact 2024 The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) is proud to announce its 2024 EM Impact program and we need YOU to help get the word out! EM Impact is a FREE, three-day event designed to provide a supportive and educational environment for young women (ages 18-29) interested in exploring a career in Emergency Management. The program will be hosted on June 25-27 at the Houston TranStar Conference Center (6922 Katy Road, Houston, TX 77024). Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided during the event. The curriculum is designed with an emphasis on emergency management, diversity, equity and inclusion, and women's empowerment. This year's EM Impact will feature the following panels: * What it Means to be an Emergency Manager * The Research that Leads Emergency Management * Recovery - A Community Rebuilding Together In addition to the panels, participants will be able to hear from speakers from across the field and engage in activities to better understand the different facets of emergency management.
