SD2/ROI Element Manager (GS-15)
The Research and Integration Operations (ROI) Element Manager within the Human Research Program (HRP) serves the crucial role of managing the implementation for the portfolio of HRP sponsored flight and flight analog research across human spaceflight flight programs and domestic and international flight analog platforms. The ROI Element manager is responsible for managing a diverse team of civil servants and contractors with responsibility for project requirement definition; feasibility for flight analysis; management of project resources, objectives and schedules; preparing project statuses, including technical, cost, schedule and risks; and presenting and defending these to HRP program management. This leadership position has the unique opportunities and challenges of developing and shaping new processes for management of human research into Artemis and Commercial Programs.
SD2/Space Radiation Deputy Element Manager (GS-14)
The Space Radiation Deputy Element Manager within the Human Research Program (HRP) responsible for project planning, development, analysis, and forecasting; analyzing and managing project resources, objectives, and schedules; preparing overall statuses, including technical, budget, and schedule; and presenting and defending these to HRP program management. This leadership position helps the agency mitigate the Space Radiation hazard and the associated risks to the crew.
SD2/Gateway Mission Operations and Integration Manager (GS-14)
The Space Medicine Operations Division (SD) Gateway Mission Operations and Integration Manager provides overall project management and guidance of technical integration activities for Gateway space medicine operations and supports the Human Health and Performance Chief Health and Performance Officer (Health and Medical Technical Authority delegate) for NASA’s Gateway Program. The incumbent obtains and maintains a broad knowledge of Gateway architecture and operations to ensure, assess, and advocate Human Health and Performance medical operations requirements. Duties include providing the operations competency technical leadership and integration with other teams within the Directorate and with external organizations to ensure the development, implementation, and verification of Directorate requirements into Gateway; serving as Division lead for Gateway Program medical integration and operations activities, integrating across a diverse team of flight surgeons, subject matter experts, behavioral health experts, and engineers; and providing leadership as the primary interface for technical integration and coordination across the Mission Operations and Space & Occupational Medicine support teams for Gateway.
