Meanwhile at Miller, it’s the off season! Yes, it came a little early this year due to upgrades to the backstage area of the theatre, but there’s still plenty happening behind the scenes.
You might wonder: Why do we have an off season? Our season runs mid-March through mid-November, and we’ve tried to have events during the colder months, but attendance drops when it gets cold or rainy. Plus, many of our nonprofit Performing Partners are busy during fall and winter.
This downtime is also essential for maintenance. Our crew removes, cleans, repairs, and restores all equipment — from lights to sound systems — to get ready for spring. And behind the scenes, we’re planning next year’s schedules, production, and marketing so we can bring you another incredible season of free performances.
Even without shows, we’re hard at work — and enjoying the occasional regular workday (and maybe making it home in time for dinner!).
