Surviving the YARD -- Preparing for Freshman Year of College - Registration closes Friday April 17th

Thanks Efamily member Erica Littlejohn Burnette for sharing!

 Greetings!
On behalf of the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals (HAULYP), we would like to invite you to our 14th installment of Young Professionals' University (YPU)! We previously sent out a save the date stating this event would be held on a different date, but due to unforeseen issues, the date has been changed to Saturday April 25, 2015, and the event will be held at the University of Houston Bauer College of Business. This semester’s theme is “Surviving the Yard!” We have an awesome, inspiring event planned for the students with informative and interactive sessions surrounding the essentials of preparing for freshman year in college. Sessions will cover leadership, college life, budget-friendly healthy eating habits, and other “need to know” information that will aid in a successful college journey.
Our goal is to empower the leaders of tomorrow. We would love to have the youth of your organization attend YPU this semester!
HAULYP recently launched our new and improved website to include a YPU section that will allow chaperones to receive more information about the event and register participants online via the eventbrite account linked to the webpage. Please click on the link in the attached document titled "YPU Registration Instructions" and follow the step-by-step instructions to register for this event. Registration closes on Friday April 17, 2015.
Each year through various sponsorships and donations, we are able to host the event free of cost to participants; however, to ensure we have a prompt and efficient registration process, all students and chaperones must pre-register. We have attached the event flyer to this email for you to review and pass on to other organizations or parents/guardians interested in attending this event with teen participants. All participants must have a chaperone accompanying them to this event.
Please feel free to contact our Community Outreach Chairs (Didi Itauma and Kursten Berry) if you have further questions or concerns.
We look forward to seeing you,

Didi Itauma & Kursten Berry
