Aiming For the Stars Male Academic Bowl Competition Sat. Jan. 28th

Calling all Mentors, Coaches, and Teams! It’s that time again to again to participate in the Annual “Aiming for the Stars” Male Academic Bowl Competition on Saturday, January 28, 2017!

Help young African-American males in grades 4th through 8th “Aim for the Stars” in an academic competition that will test their academic skills, wit, and brain power.
Join The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), Project Still I Rise, Inc., Senator Royce West, AT&T, along with other community partners, in the sixth annual African American Male Academic Bowl (AAMAB). The AAMAB is an academic tournament that invites teams to compete in a jeopardy style format. Each team will consist of three (3) students and one (1) coach. There are two team divisions: Elementary Division (4th – 5th grades) and Middle School Division (6th – 8th grades). This academic tournament is designed as a single elimination competition that will quiz two teams at a time within a designated time frame. The winners from both categories will meet in the championship round. The winning teams will receive special awards.
This event will be held on the campus of The University of Texas at Dallas, 800 W. Campbell Rd., Richardson, TX 75080, on January 28, 2017. The team registration fee is $100.00.
The deadline to enter a team or volunteer for the African American Male Academic Bowl is January 15th.
