Yacht -Delta Soror of Pat Evans Opened a Yacht Chartering Company

From Efamily member Pat Evans who is a Delta (I am an AKA but love to support all my sisters!!)

All,

Our Delta Sigma Theta Northern Virginia Alumnae (NoVAC) soror opened her own Yacht Chartering (available for renting) business as a luxurious alternative to cruise ships vacations. Her company is called Socha Yacht Club. For more information or to book, please visit www.socayachtclub.com, or contact Soror Sheila Ruffin at info@socayachtclub.com

Inherent in the name is soca, a musical genre of Caribbean culture and the “soundtrack of carnival,” which is an exuberant celebration that involves processions, dancing, parties, parades, and the most colorful and bejeweled costumes you have ever seen! Soca’s groovy beat and up-tempo are the signature elements infused in each of her yacht experiences to have you “making waves & rocking the boat!” From yacht vacations and festivals to business events at sea, her goal is to provide experiences that you will find exhilarating, refreshing, and memorable.

When you charter a yacht, you have your own trained captain to steer the vessel, personal chef to create mouth-watering cuisine, and host to create a hospitable experience.
You and your companions will get full privacy. The only “third wheels” will be the yacht crew, and they will have their own cabins and are only there to cater to your every whim.

“I am beyond excited for this opportunity to market my travel agency before my sorority sisters on a national level,” says Soror Ruffin.
Established by Soror Ruffin, Soca Yacht Club is a boutique travel agency that charters state-of-the-art yachts to meet your travel needs with all-inclusive travel packages to a Caribbean oasis. It was created to not only provide a luxurious experience to the traditional travel enthusiast, but also to expand to a more diverse population. “There is a myth that African Americans are only interested in cruise vacations and they lack the finances to charter a yacht. A large portion of African Americans are interested in yachting, but the industry ignores our race and ethnicity,” explains Soror Ruffin.

Bronze Breadfruit starts at $36,057 per yacht, Silver Soursop starts at $48,215 per yacht, and Gold Guava starts at $57,310 per yacht, based on 5 nights and 6 days. Your party must charter the whole yacht. Payment plans are available, spread across all members in your yachting party. For those guests flying into St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, roundtrip airport shuttle and roundtrip ferry service to the marina (where you will board your yacht) is included in pricing. If you fly into Tortola, British Virgin Islands, roundtrip airport shuttle to the marina is included. You handle your own flight/airline tickets.
