A Message from Christopher Hollins, Harris County Clerk
Thank you for allowing me to join the faith leaders call. As you know, I made a number of requests—we need your help to ensure that the November Election is safe and accessible for the voters of Harris County. Those requests are detailed below, but quick links are listed here: 1. Encourage your congregants (especially seniors) to vote by mail if they are eligible: https://harrisvotes. 2. Encourage your congregants to serve as election workers: https://harrisvotes. 3. Designate your house of worship or community building as a voting center: https://Harrisvotes. 4. Get customized video messages about civic engagement (nonpartisan): https:// 5. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
--MORE DETAILS--
VOTE BY MAIL Voting by mail is the safest method to cast your ballot this November. We encourage all voters to determine if they qualify to vote by mail, and if so, to apply for a mail ballot: https://harrisvotes.
ELECTION WORKERS AND VOTING CENTERS We are expecting record voter turnout this fall. To meet these demands while also ensuring voter safety, we are doubling the number of Early Voting Centers from 57 to 120 and Election Day Voting Centers to over 800. That means we need more election workers and voting centers than ever before in Harris County history.
Please encourage your congregants to serve as election workers this November. They can learn more at https://harrisvotes.com/
For more information on your house of worship or community building serving as a voting center this November, please visit https://Harrisvotes.com/
CUSTOMIZED MESSAGES TO ENCOURAGE VOTING (NONPARTISAN) Also – as we continue to adapt to reaching our communities during COVID-19 and social distancing – we are creating a number of nonpartisan messages about the importance of voting, important dates, and the importance of members of your congregations being involved. If you are open to including these nonpartisan messages as part of your virtual (or in-person) services, go to https://harrisvotes.com/
Thank you again for your partnership in encouraging members of our community to participate and make their voices heard this November.
For more information, please follow us @HarrisVotes on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Thank you,
Christopher G. Hollins County Clerk Harris County, Texas 713.274.8600 (o) 713.899.3204 (m) ________
