About this event Join us for a dual event - Blockwalk and Phone Bank, co-sponsored by Bridges to Empowerment, Texas Federation of the People, and Swing TX Left. This is an event to ask people to vote in the upcoming election on November 2, 2021. We will also bring awareness to the constitutional amendments that are going to be on the ballot. Make sure your cell phone is fully charged when you arrive -Bring a mask and plan to wear it while knocking on doors -Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes -We will have water and light snacks -For Blockwalkers only: If you are able to install the MiniVAN app on your phone ahead of the block walk, please do. You will be asked to create an action ID, which you can do in the app or on this website (https://accounts.ngpvan.com/Account/RegisterPrivate). If you cannot get to this ahead of time, we will be happy to help you with this on the day of the block walk. It is recommended that participants bring their COVID immunization record, or a picture of it on their phone. During all events, masks are required to be worn at all times except when eating or drinking. This includes fully vaccinated individuals and both indoor and outdoor events. Social distancing of at least 6 feet between you and anyone from outside your household is essential, including out doors. All events will take place outside. Individuals who are at high risk (e.g., immunocompromised), feel sick, have been exposed to COVID, or who have not been vaccinated should join events online only.
