Exciting news unfolded as the Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) and the Aldine Independent School District (AISD) joined forces to introduce the National Urban League's Project Ready College 3.0 College/Career Ready Program (NULITES) to over 100 students at Carver High School. The induction ceremony, held on November 3, 2023, at the Aldine Carver High School Auditorium, saw the active participation of Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney, Superintendent of Aldine ISD, and several Board of Trustees members. Directed by Carver High Principal, LaKeshia Williams and HAUL Executive Vice President, Eric Goodie, the ceremony celebrated academic excellence, culminating in each of the 100 Project Ready Carver NULITES students receiving a new Dell Laptop, a computer backpack with earphones and an electric mouse, courtesy of Comcast.
These invaluable resources are set to empower students as they embark on their educational journeys. The collaboration extends beyond the ceremony, with the 100 students now benefiting from in-school Project Ready services, enhancing their preparedness for future college and career endeavors. The impact of this initiative is poised to shape the academic and professional futures of Carver High School students, marking a significant milestone in their educational pursuits.
