Greetings,
Hope you are having a
wonderful summer. Amazingly, the first day of school is quickly
approaching, and we are preparing for Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Back to School
Fest which will take place in mid-August 2016.
As in years past, all
registered K-5 students will receive a backpack filled with school supplies,
and we will also have providers available to give eye and ear examinations,
vaccinations, and lessons in dental hygiene and health. This is a great
opportunity to provide your district’s students with valuable resources to
prepare for the upcoming school year. It’s also 100% free thanks to the
generosity of Shell and other munificent sponsors.
In order to receive the
date and location for the event, participants must register at http://houstontx.gov/btsf/registermystudent.html.
Registration closes on
July 31, 2016!
We urge parents to
register online, but they can call 311 or 713-837-0311 to register from 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. if they do not have a computer.
Would you please help us
in promoting this event? We welcome robocalls, posts on your websites, twitter,
or facebook feeds, or even circulating the attached flyer to ensure that this
opportunity reaches as many eligible students as possible.
Please feel free to
contact us should you have any questions.
Respectfully,
Juliet Stipeche
