Virtual Performance: What to Expect

The virtual performance will be hosted using Zoom. Users may choose to download the free Zoom app or access through their internet browser. The "RSVP" link above will take you directly to Zoom to register for this specific event.

Logging On

Once you have registered for the Legacy Performance and Dance Maker's Discussion, Zoom will automatically provide you with an e-mail confirmation containing details on joining the event, including your unique access link which should not be shared.

Access to the 6:00pm CDT virtual event will be available 10 minutes prior to the performance start time (5:50pm CDT) to allow users time to troubleshoot any technical issues. We advise logging in at this time to make sure your internet connection is working properly and/or set up screen mirroring to your smart TV if you plan to do so.

Embedded in this rich work, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech "We Shall Overcome" becomes the embodiment of faith and protest. Choreographer Tommie-Waheed Evans will speak about his timely work Bodies as Site of Faith and Protest, which explores the idea of bodies uniting in protest through faith. The DBDT dancers will share their perspective about the process and journey to performing this work. You will be able to engage in conversation by sharing your comments and asking questions.
