Get ready to celebrate Kennedy Center Honors on CBS on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 8:00 PM EASTERN / 7:00 PM Central ! Of course, they will not be able to show it all but I do hope the Anika Noni Rose tribute to Debbie Allen survives the cutting room floor. Debbie thanked a long list of colleagues and supporters for her career, including Bill Cosby, Shonda Rhimes, and her big sister Phylicia Rashad.

President Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed the five artists to the White House on Thursday morning. They were joined by the honorees’ guests, the chairman of the board of trustees and the president of the Kennedy Center, and Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens.

Top infectious-disease expert Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, accompanied Joan Baez one evening.

The Kennedy Center returns to a traditional celebration in December 2021, when the 44th annual Honors are scheduled.
