Harvey Multi-Family Project City of Houston!!

CitizensNet Newsletter: HOUSING & HOMELESSNESS | June 30, 2021

Harvey Multifamily Program is announcing that up to $28 Million will be available for the currently issued Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA)

With recent changes to award amounts for existing developments, the Harvey Multifamily Program is announcing that up to $28 Million will be available for the currently issued Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), which will make up Round 3 of the program. This increase in funding will not change the maximum awards granted or the dates of the NOFA.

Through this funding round, the Harvey Multifamily Program expects to make its final awards to developers, primarily as gap funding to cover the rising costs of building materials. A pre-proposal conference was held on June 11, 2021, and a recording discussing updates to HCDD policies and requirements is available to view. Developers can submit applications through July 2, 2021, to request funding for affordable home developments. More information can be found at https://recovery.houstontx.gov/contracting/#nofa.

The Harvey Multifamily Program is supported through a Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery 2017 (CDBG-DR17), provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with oversight from the Texas General Land Office (GLO). Of the program’s $450 million total funding intended to replace and expand the housing stock lost during Hurricane Harvey, $437 has been committed, primarily to 37 developments, which together will create or rehabilitate nearly 4,200 rental homes.

The City of Houston Housing and Community Development (HCDD) makes long-term investments to better the lives of Houston residents by creating opportunities for every Houstonian to have a home they can afford in a community where they can thrive. Our department will spend approximately $350 million in federal, state, and local funding this fiscal year to construct and maintain affordable homes, reduce barriers to homeownership, support the work of social service providers, build public amenities, and facilitate disaster recovery efforts. Learn more about programs and resources for Houstonians at www.houstontx.gov/housing.

Changes To Online Ticketing

Online ticketing is changing! Starting Wednesday, July 7th, online ticketing will be available on our website at the link below TWO DAYS prior to the performance. (July 7th at 9am for HITS on July 9th; July 8th at 9am for HITS July 10th performance, etc.)

We know so many people are happy with being able to get tickets online, and we understand that schedules can change in a week. By shortening the time from one week to 2 days prior to the performance, we anticipate more ticket holders will be attending the shows.

For those of you who need assistance with special seating and wheelchair accessibility, please call the box office at 832-487-7123.
