So, amidst these historical tectonic shifts, Dr. Lonnie Bunch's The Obama Portraits Tour, organized by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, will travel to five cities across the U.S. from June 2021 through May 2022 and is expected to reach millions of people who might not otherwise have an opportunity to view these remarkable paintings. I recall the First Lady's portrait had to be moved to a much broader space in the D.C. gallery because people were so eager to get up close they were blocking entrance to other portraits!
So, feel free to travel to a location near you. [Department of Homeland Security (DHS) extended the REAL ID license enforcement date for air travel to May 3, 2023, due to circumstances resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.]
