The ASTROS FOUNDATION is proud to present the Honeywell 2022 Hall of Fame STEM Teacher Awards Nominate a teacher or self-nominate TODAY! See details below NOMINATION PROCESS AND SELECTION CRITERIA Eligibility Only certified STEM Teachers in the Greater Houston area are eligible for selection. All nominations must be submitted via the online form. Nominees can self-nominate or can be nominated by others. Honeywell employees are eligible to submit nominations, but employees and their immediate family members are ineligible to win. Immediate family members are classified as an employee’s spouse, child, parent, sibling or domestic partner. All nominations will be reviewed solely based on merit and display of characteristics detailed in the selection criteria section. Review the selection process for more information. Selection Process Honeywell and the Astros Foundation will recognize 10 STEM teachers during the baseball season. Nominations will be accepted in August and early September. Notifications will be sent out to selected teachers during the month of September. The winning teachers will be selected by a selection committee made up of representatives from Honeywell. The nomination period for the 2022 Honeywell Hall of Fame STEM Teacher Awards will be open August 25 – September 5th. Those nominations that demonstrate the teacher’s ability to adapt to the unique challenges posed by COVID-19 will be given special consideration. Commitment to excellence in STEM teaching Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the classroom, using both traditional and non-traditional teaching tools Demonstrated leadership skills Goes above and beyond to make a difference in students' lives Demonstrated increase in student achievement in STEM Demonstrated increase in student affinity for STEM Awards Winning teachers will receive awards from both Honeywell and the Astros Foundation, including: Pre-game recognition Up to 10 game tickets $2,000 donation to teacher Honeywell and Houston Astros gift package
