Seeking Interns for Black United Fund of Texas, Cleo Glenn Johnson-McLaughlin Founder and CEO - EARN VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS and NETWORK with community organizers, politicians, etc.

In each area, the students will do research to support our proposals in each area serving underserved communities and ex-offenders. They will shadow me (Cleo) in the community, go to meetings, and meet elected officials, we will go to Austin to help review how to write legislation and the process, organize community workshops/ forums on various community interests then submit for legislation, peruse other concepts in other states best practices and outcomes to establish new opportunities to develop inventions, create business opportunities and document all activities in their green paper (not whitepaper)about their experience with BUFTX and Bayland Center. There with be some administrative work like going through old files and organizing them to help maintain the organization's history. reviewing old proposals we already have that they can update and embellish as well as create new ones so we can submit to foundations for support. Jerrilyn Hayes has an MS in Sociology Marcus Glenn MS in Agriculture Obidiki Kamau has Ph.D. in Library Science Trina Walker MS History & Communications So we have people with the degrees to oversee the student's work and they will work with Cleo - great networking opportunity for students to meet role models in these areas if they have an interest in this kind of community, research, government/policy and history work.
