City of Houston Mayor's Office Media Alert FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: 02/12/2023 View this email in your browser Mayor Sylvester Turner To Tour Navigation Center WHAT: Mayor Sylvester Turner along with the Mayor's Office for Homeless Initiatives and other invited partners and community members will tour the Navigation Center located in Houston's Fifth Ward on Monday.   Last week with the decommissioning of the Chartreuse encampment, the oldest and largest encampment in Houston, about 50 people from the encampment were moved to the Navigation Center.   The center will provide bridge beds to a minimum of 350 homeless people annually, along with services to help them obtain employment and address health care needs, among other needs. The city's partnership is with the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County, which will operate the center.   WHEN: Monday, February 13, 2023 11:30 a.m. WHERE: Navigation Center 2903 Jensen Dr.
