On Saturday, April 29, 2017, Texas Southern University will host its Maroon and Gray Affair in the new Marriott Marquis — Houston located downtown. The purpose of this event is for Texas Southern to partner with the community to raise scholarship funds. This will enable the University to provide scholarships for deserving students who excel in their areas of study — as well as critically important scholarships earmarked for students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to pursue a college education.
Comedian Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles, co-host of the nationally syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” and Melinda Spaulding, Emmy Award-winning co-anchor of Fox 26 Houston News will serve as master and mistress of ceremonies. The keynote will be delivered by Judy A. Smith, founder and president of Smith & Co, a leading strategic and crisis communications firm with offices in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles — who is the real life Olivia Pope from the hit television show “Scandal.”
Those in attendance will be supporting Texas Southern as we continue our commitment to provide a quality education, vibrant student experiences, and an opportunity to give back by preparing our students to become successful and productive leaders within our community and throughout the world.
