Efamily member Dr. Betty Sanders' daughter, Renee Elise Goldsberry*, Tony Award winner (from Broadway's Hamilton) Daytime Emmy Award winner as Evangeline Williamson on One Life to Live, original cast of Broadway's Color Purple, NAACP Image Award winner - is performing (Headliner) at the Houston Symphony! Performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Following her Tony Award–winning run in Hamilton, Broadway star Renée Elise Goldsberry returns to her childhood home of Houston for an unforgettable evening of beloved Broadway show tunes recognizable to young and old alike. You’ll hear selections like “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” plus songs from The Lion King and Rent. And, there’s always the possibility of a few numbers from Hamilton!
There are performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'll be at the Saturday performance, and if you're there I hope to see you at the After-Party on September 7: Saturday night attendees are invited to stay late for a showstopping after-party. Dance the night away to tracks by DJ Joey Flaco, sip specialty cocktails, enjoy free giveaways and mingle with Houston Symphony musicians! Your ticket to the concert is all you need for entry.
About Renee Elise Goldsberry
American actress, singer and songwriter, known for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway musical Hamilton, for which she won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Her other Broadway credits include Nettie Harris in the original Broadway cast of The Color Purple, Mimi Márquez in Rent, and Nala in The Lion King. She has portrayed many roles on television, including Geneva Pine on The Good Wife, and ,Evangeline Williamson on One Life to Live, for which she received two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series nominations.
For those in the efamily with youth interested in this career - here is Renee's path - a singer, songwriter and Actress... After graduating from Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, she attended Carnegie Mellon University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater. She subsequently attended graduate school at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where she received a Master of Music in jazz studies.
