Summer NASA research/mentorship opportunity for graduate students
Seeking graduate students who are interested in an 8-week summer opportunity in the general DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
Lodging, per diem, and stipend are included. Additional information and the application are available at the following link:
docs.google.com/file/d/
We hope to recruit grad students from a range of backgrounds and especially those with interest in JEDI work and near-peer mentoring. International students are eligible as long as they're at US institutions. More info on the SaSa program may be found on the project website: www.nasa.gov/sasa
While the primary responsibilities will be mentoring the undergraduates in the SaSa summer program, this is a great opportunity to get experience with NASA airborne research, facilities, and data. SaSa will likely be of greatest interest to those studying atmospheric science (including air quality), but there is potential to serve as mentor on research topics relating to marine science, water quality, and/or data/coding as well. We're hoping to select the graduate student mentors ASAP so they can be included in the science team organization and flight planning discussions with our SaSa NASA and university partners. We anticipate providing a short mentorship training (TBD) prior to the summer session as well.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask me or the SaSa project manager Samiah Moustafa. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Best,
Kristina
