This week help us Celebrate the NAACP 113 years young on it’s Founder’s Day, February 12, 1909.
READY SET ACT-SO!
Join us in kicking off the 44th year of the NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), which is a Scholarship Program. We are looking for high school students who exemplify scholastic and artistic excellence. Students can compete in up to 3 of the NAACP ACT-SO’s (33) categories, which include the Humanities, STEMS, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship and the Hospitality Management Team. The following documents are attached: 2022 NAACP ACT-SO Competition Categories Descriptions, Requirements & Points, The ACT-SO Science Project Guide and the STEM Verification form.
In 2021, we celebrated the accomplishments of our NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Scholars and Medalists (70), NAACP National ACT-SO Champions (18), NAACP National ACT-SO Medalists (10) and NAACP National Education Scholarship Recipients (10) of the NAACP Youth and College Division. We also thanked and honored our Parents, Families, Friends, Alumni, Mentors, Coaches, Educators, Judges, Motivational Presenters, Individual and Corporate Sponsors, Supporters and NAACP Members for their volunteerism and financial support.
In the Month of February 2022 The NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Competition ONLINE REGISTRATION is now open. Inorder to compete locally, high schools students MUST REGISTER ASAP using the following link https://forms.gle/mma3aHJV3tJ1VfSZA or QR Code provided on the 2022 NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Flyer attached.
The NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Program will host group virtual enrichment sessions on Friday, February 11, 2022 and February 18, 2022 from 7 pm – 8 pm via Zoom. Please click on the link below to register for the February 2022 Zoom meetings:
Save the Dates for Future Events!
- March 2022: The NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Virtual Group Enrichments Sessions will be scheduled on Friday nights. Some of the enrichments will be mandatory for the students to attend in order for them to receive the information needed, ask questions and submit ALL the required NAACP ACT-SO Competition documents per deadlines.

- April 2022: The NAACP Houston Branch ACT-SO Virtual Competition will be held: Dates to be announced (TBA) throughout the month of April 2022.

- June 2022: Preparation for the 44th NAACP National ACT-SO Competition (May-July 2022).
- July 14, 2022 – July 18, 2022: 44th NAACP National ACT-SO Competition, Awards Ceremony, Reception and Showcase Performances in Atlantic City, New Jersey
- July 16-21, 2022: 113rd NAACP National Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey
