You must have an active eviction case (or cause) number to apply.
You must reside within Houston city limits or Harris County.
Your landlord must agree to participate and follow the guidelines of the Houston-Harris County Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Important:
You are only eligible for this program if your landlord is pursuing eviction solely due to outstanding rent payments.
You are not eligible if you have already received rental assistance for the same months of past-due rent that are part of your eviction case.
Eligibility:
You must live in Harris County or the City of Houston.
You must currently be in the eviction process and have a court docket (cause or case) number.
You must demonstrate that you have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Your landlord must agree to participate and follow the guidelines of the Houston-Harris County Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
Your income can be no more than 80% of Area Family Median Income (AMI). See chart below. For example, a family of 4 cannot earn more than $63,350 annually.
There are limits to the months of assistance and amount of rent that can be covered, based on grant rules.
