Dear Faith Leaders: We have a special request to ask you. Please share information about our SERVE HOUSTON AmeriCorps program with college students, gap year students, recent graduates, and college aspiring students through your social media, email, and other communication channels by the end of April. Let us know if you can do so! We have 50 spots to fill and want to reach as many candidates as possible across Houston to ensure a diverse and enthusiastic cohort. As you know, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston feeds 5000+ homebound seniors and their pets daily, resettles refugees, promotes interfaith dialogue and understanding, and transforms our community through volunteerism. Among our signature programs is our SERVE HOUSTON AmeriCorps program, which is a six-month, 20 hours a week, service-learning experience starting mid-September and ending early April 2023. Selected participants (called AmeriCorps Members) will be placed in teams of five at one of our ten local nonprofit project sites to help “get things done” by working directly with some of our community’s most vulnerable people. BENEFITS INCLUDE $4,500 living allowance (distributed bi-weekly) $1,718 Segal education award Professional training And much more!
