High school students from all over the country attend EXPLORE Summer Camps at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. This unique experience offers them insight to the fields of Entrepreneurship, Sales, and Energy and Sustainability.

EXPLORE Entrepreneurship

July 10-15, 2016

Open to:  Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders in the United States

Residential

Hosted by the Bauer College Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship (WCE), one of the top undergraduate entrepreneurship programs in the nation, you will get a CEO's perspective on starting a business from the ground up and hands-on experiences - from elevator pitches to implementation of your business ideas!

EXPLORE Sales

July 17-22, 2016

Open to:  Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders in the United States

Residential

Professional Selling at UH Bauer is real world.  It's about getting to know people and learning how to use those connections to advance your brand by successfully showing value and standing out.  What are you doing to distinguish yourself now?  You will have the opportunity to work on teams, perfect your presentation skills, have fun and most of all, you will get to explore what makes you stand out.

EXPLORE Energy & Sustainability

July 24-29, 2016

Open to:  Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders in the United States

Residential

Will we run out of oil and what will replace it? Natural gas, nuclear, solar, or wind?  How do we run our cars, businesses, and homes and still have a clean environment and avoid dramatic climate changes?  These are just a few of the questions you will explore with the University of Houston Bauer College faculty and industry experts.

Who is eligible to apply?

You must be a rising 10th, 11th or 12th grader (current 9th, 10th or 11th grader for the 2015-2016 school year). An application is required.  Space is limited: Thirty students will be selected for the camp through a competitive selection process.

When are the camp dates?

Explore Entrepreneurship: July 10-15, 2016

Explore Sales: July 17-22, 2016

Explore Energy & Sustainability: July 24-29, 2016

Where is the camp?

The EXPLORE summer camps will take place primarily at the C. T. Bauer College of Business on the UH-Central main campus. Students will also travel off-site for various site visits and field trips (transportation provided).

How much does it cost?

The camp is free, but only 30 total students will be selected to participate. Full scholarships will be awarded to all participants.

Is housing available? Can I stay on campus during the Institute?

Yes! Participants are required to stay on campus in UH residential housing during the camp.

When and how do I apply?

Apply online from April 1-30, 2016. (Online application will not be available until April 1, 2016.)

When will I hear back about the status of my application?

June 1, 2016
