Booster Shots and Underlying Conditions thanks City of Houston (Janice Weaver) for sharing!
Vaccination and Testing Sites
All adults (ages 18+) who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 are now eligible for a booster shot. People who received Moderna or Pfizer can get a booster six months after the second shot and those who received Johnson & Johnson can get a booster two months after the single shot. If the vaccine a person originally received is not available, any of the three can be “mixed and matched” as a booster shot.
Please consider sharing our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts about the updated booster guidance.
Underlying Conditions
More than half of Houstonians who died of COVID-19 had diabetes, the Houston Health Department recently announced to highlight its free diabetes self-management program and National Diabetes Awareness Month.
Underlying health conditions make people more likely to suffer poor outcomes from COVID-19. Getting vaccinated prevents serious illness, hospitalization, and death; it also helps reduce the spread of COVID-19.
