TWEF & UPS Partners with Major Corporations to Host Community Job Fair, Saturday November 13th 10AM to 2PM

HOUSTON, TEXAS


TWEF, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, partners with UPS to host an outdoor Community Festival & Job Fair on November 13, 2021, from 10 am to 2 pm at 8333 Sweetwater Lane, Houston Texas 77037 Free Parking and Shuttles available. Come for the music and fun but stay and get a job!


UPS, METRO, Houston Police Department, Houston Community College, Coca-Cola, Houston Area Women's Center, Comerica, Texas Workforce Solutions, and more are offering job seekers an opportunity to connect with employers onsite face-to-face. The non-cost event is open to the public and will feature many employers seeking to fill open positions within their companies. Some are hiring on the spot with positions paying up to $35 an hour.


This is a chance for all job seekers to link up and meet potential employers and hiring managers. "By partnering with our sponsor, UPS, and these amazing companies, we can give potential job seekers a real opportunity to find a job within our community. Some may even get hired on the spot. People are ready to get back to work following this awful pandemic and we want to help them find not just jobs but potential careers."


UPS is looking to hire during the holiday season. The company hopes to hire more than 100,000 people in the U.S. for the expected rush of packages. All positions are open including; drivers, yard shifters, part-time supervisors, personal vehicle drivers, and tractor-trailer drivers with some positions paying up to $35 an hour. UPS District Health & Safety Manager, Roderick K. Brown says, " UPS is proud to support the communities we serve by offering seasonal job opportunities and with our Partnership with Texas Women's Empowerment Foundation (TWEF) the possibilities are endless!"

 

Job Seekers should bring plenty of resumes and dress to impress for possible onsite interviews with employers. Additionally, we encourage bringing a face mask and practicing social distancing.

TWEF continues to complete its mission of caring for the community. The non-profit has served over 6000 families during the COVID pandemic by hosting drive-thru giveaways, PPE events, and weekly digital & virtual conferences to help fight against the spread of COVID.

TWEF is a non-profit organization geared towards helping families, from all walks of life; reach their fullest potential in the areas of business, education, finances, and socio-economic status. The focus of programming is therefore on the whole family; men, women, the elderly, and youth. The Foundation works to achieve these goals by sponsoring successful programs aimed at helping families achieve and maintain a sense of empowerment that manifests itself through life performance.
