Child Care Tax Credit

  Dear HITC – please share the following information from Baker Ripley to families you serve about claiming their Child Tax Credit (attached flyers have more information!):

 

If you have children 17 years old or younger you may qualify for this credit and receive up to $3,600 Per child (under 6 years old) and $3,000 Per child (6 – 17 years old);

You can receive half of it before the end of 2021 if you enroll before November 15th at: www.getctc.org/BakerRipley or attend the following:

It’s very generous credit that can help lift children out of poverty, and the deadline for families to get their advance is 11/15, but they will have another chance during next year’s tax season (Jan-April 2022). BakerRipley will also have free tax filing assistance and help with ITINs for undocumented parents who can claim the Child Tax Credit for their children who are eligible.

 

As part of this program supported by the Office of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Baker Ripely needs to host events at community spaces in order to reach more families of color, especially in low resourced communities. So if you have the space and time to partner (to host and/or conduct further outreach), please let me know and I’ll connect you with the team at the County and BakerRipley.
