Regional Managing Director, Southwest (Houston, TX)

Reporting to the Vice President for Regional Fundraising, the Regional Managing Director (Houston) will provide leadership to the Southwest Regional team. The Regional Managing Director will be responsible for developing an expansion strategy in Houston and areas across the Southwest Region which will increase fundraising dramatically.  The Regional Managing Director will engage the volunteer board of directors for Houston; manage a portfolio of donors and prospects across the region (100-150); and identify, cultivate, and solicit high net worth individuals for the major donor program, specifically to help meet the Southwest Region’s annual fundraising goals. The Southwest Region is made up of seven states (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico).

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
�.     Build organizational capacity by raising visibility, expanding the board and maximizing the boards’ involvement in meeting the assigned annual goals
�.     Develop and implement plans to meet annual major gifts, special event, and corporate financial goals.  Working in collaboration, develop strategies that build upon and reinforce national development strategies
�.     Cultivate and solicit assigned and prospective donors in the region
�.     Increase awareness around the plight of children living in impoverished nations by communicating the U.S. Fund’s mission and having a public presence
�.     Oversee daily operations of the regional office, including supervising staff, managing public inquiries, budgets, etc.
�.     Develop a plan to support knowledge of and affinity towards UNICEF’s work in the Southwest through vehicles such as the Global Citizenship Fellows Program
�.     Support efforts of other USF national campaigns such as Kid Power, TAP, ELIMINATE and Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
�.     Represent the Southwest Region and speak at select events, as appropriate

Qualifications:
�.     Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred
�.     A minimum of ten years of major gift fundraising development experience, with a proven success record in major gifts cultivation and solicitation, and at least three years in a leadership role
�.     Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
�.     Proven track record leading teams
�.     Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships
�.     Must possess a strong work ethic, and be a motivated, enthusiastic team player who embraces the mission of  USF
�.     Working knowledge of Houston and Southwest Region philanthropic community and  experience managing a board of directors
�.     Must be willing to travel domestically and occasionally internationally 
�.     Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service

Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
