Community Leader,
The wait is over...the Plan Houston
resident survey is now available! By participating in this short 2 minute
survey (www.planhouston.org), you can
make your voice heard and actually influence what is funded in our next City
budget!
As Vice Chair of the Budget and
Fiscal Affairs Committee, I have been working closely with the Mayor's office
and Planning Department on the implementation of Plan Houston. Plan Houston is
the City's first general plan that encompasses a broad vision for Houston
outlined in 12 core strategies. The City has developed an enhanced budgeting
process in which resident input will be obtained regarding issues that are most
important to them via an online Plan Houston survey. This resident input
will be incorporated into initiatives to be included in the FY2018 budget.
The public input period will
continue through November 25th, and we need your help! We are enlisting the
help of community leaders to help spread the word and encourage resident
participation in the Plan Houston survey (www.planhouston.org).
Please share this information with your civic club and organization
members, neighbors, families, and friends by including it in your newsletters,
social media, email blasts, word of mouth or by sharing promotional materials
and paper copies of the survey. We need your help to truly obtain
resident input on a broad scale. Let us know what is important to you!
If you have any questions or if you
need paper copies of the survey, you may reach out to the Planning Department
at 832-393-6600, or you may contact our office by emailing atlarge4@houstontx.gov, or
dialing 832-393-3012.
Sincerely,
Amanda K. Edwards
Houston City Council Member,
At-Large Position 4
