Urban Youth Academy Fall Instructional League run by the Houston Astros

UYA FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE

The Urban Youth Academy Fall Instructional League is created for the purpose of improving both the mental and athletic skills of the academy’s baseball athletes.

The league will be an instructional  league run by the Houston Astros UYA staff and will include:

Cost: $10.00/player (Includes Hat, Game Jersey)

Registration: September 23 thru October 8, 2016

Payment Times: 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. (Monday - Thursday); 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Friday)

Payment Type: Cash, Check/Money Order (payable to: The Astros Foundation) or Credit Card

Limited to first 60 participants in each Division

League Play - October 10, 2016 - November 21, 2016 (WEEKNIGHTS ONLY)

Girls Softball (Grades 2nd-6th) – Softball Division - Mondays

Boys Baseball (Grades 2nd - 4th) - Rookie Division - Tuesdays

Boys Baseball (Grades 5th - 6th) - A Division - Thursdays

Boys Baseball (Grades 7th - 8th) - AA Division - Thursdays

Boys Baseball (Grades 9th - 12th) - AAA Division - Wednesdays

Games will be:  1-hr 20-min (Softball, Rookie and A); 1-hr 40-min (AA and AAA)

Games played at 6:30 pm (Softball, Rookie, A and AA); 7:00 pm (AAA)

UYA EVENING INSTRUCTION

Fall UYA Evening open instruction is now open for RSVP for Boys & Girls Ages (7-18)

Instruction for the week will be from: Monday, October 3 – Friday, October 7, 2016. 

A new link will be sent out each week.  You must sign up each week for instruction.

Monday & Wednesday -

Boys & Girls - 7^th-12^th Grade Session – 6:30 – 8:30PM

Tuesday & Thursday -

Boys & Girls - 2^nd-6^th Grade Sessions – 6:30 - 8:00PM

Friday -

Pitcher & Catcher ONLY Session – 6:30 – 8:00 PM

  *   Remember you must RSVP for instruction in advance. Instruction RSVP for the week will close Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.  In the event of a cancellation to your reservation date, you may not be added to the list the next day if you have not made a reservation for that following day without contacting the UYA.
  *   Everyone who sends RSVP will be allowed to participate. There will be no confirmation e-mail sent. There will be no walk-ups allowed without prior contact of UYA staff. Continuous "NO SHOWS" will be removed from the RSVP email distribution. Your child's name MUST be on the sign-in sheet to participate, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  *   In the event of potentially inclement weather, please be sure to check your e-mail prior to departing to UYA.
  *   UYA Dress Code consists of baseball pants (grey preferred), baseball belt, baseball socks, cleats, glove and sneaker shoes (for indoor hitting). We will provide your child with an orange Urban Youth Academy t-shirt which is to be worn as your players uniform EVERYDAY! Please adhere to the dress code as close as possible. Please contact the UYA staff with concerns regarding equipment or uniform.

UYA EVENING TUTORING

The Urban Youth Academy will offer FREE evening tutoring for all members. 

Tutoring will be conducted on Monday nights ONLY from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Please use the link below to sign up for tutoring in the month of October.
