This month, we honor the contributions of African Americans who have immeasurably enriched our nation's political, educational, cultural and economic fabric since its inception. Join us at HMAAC for a wealth of black history programming, from history lectures, to our yearly debate, film screenings, and the Black History Project panel discussion.
There's something for everyone at HMAAC!

African American Texas History Made Plain - Starts TONIGHT
 
HMAAC is working with our Communnity Partner, Texas Center for african american living history to offer a Texas African American history course. Through the month of February, we will explore our contributions and value in an effort to re new level of value in ourselves, our communities, and our contributions. 
 
The Great Debate: Battle of the Sexes- THIS WEEKEND!
 
Join the award winning Texas Southern University debate team for another year at HMAAC. Its an age old debate at this year's Great Debate: The TSU Men Vs the TSU women.  FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS DEBATE WILL BE DECIDED BY AUDIENCE VOTES! Don't miss your chance to cast your vote!! RSVP HERE
 
HMAAC Film Series: Cronies
 
Join us for the kickoff of HMAAC's 2017 film series. Cronies, an award winning film executive produced by Spike Lee, is a thoughtful reflection on nostalgia and how the sins of the past affect the present. RSVP HERE
